Blessed are the Humble

A Christmas Poem

Glittering walls,
marble floors, 
polished stones and gems. 
Luxurious silks, 
Pillows of the finest down, 
Warm baths spiced with oils and incense. 

This was the welcome he deserved. 
The birth of a king. 
The entrance others expected him to make. 

But God’s plans transcend earthly expectations. 

A stone cave, 
With cold hardened earth, 
A crude woo…
